Barefoot Doctor, Mongolia, Thirty years later

Dan Zhang lives in Vancouver. She was born in Beijing China and was sent to Inner Mongolia during Mao’s cultural revolution. She spent ten years in Inner Mongolia as a barefoot doctor. After all those years, Dan returns to visit her friends. She will discover all the changes that have taken place since she left 30 years ago. They no longer live in a yurt and are now sedentary. Dan’s visit to Inner Mongolia allows us to meet the Mongolian people, their traditions and their new way of life.François Laliberté has been a documentary cameraman for the last 25 years. His images document the lives of people around the world and are seen by millions of television viewers in Canada. He received Prix Gémeaux Awards in 1992 & 1996.
